Day 4-5: Taroko Gorge National Park

Spend your last few days unwinding at the Taroko Gorge National Park. On your way in, see the Eternal Spring Shrine, a temple built directly above waterfall streams which flow year round. Continue your way up and stop by the Buluowan, a restored cluster of aboriginal dwellings. Take a hike on one of the many trails such as the Shakadang Trail which follows the pathing of the Shakadang River below, and is known for its bright turquoise hue. Upon reaching Tienshiang, the terminal station of the Taroko Shuttle Bus, visit the nearby seven-tiered Tian Feng Pagoda and temple and snap some photos with the 9 meter tall Guanying (bodhisattva of compassion) statue.

For transportation, we suggest hiring one of the local taxi services at the Hualien Train Station, the drivers also double as a tour guides. Feel free to ask us if you need help renting a taxi for the day! End your day at the Silk’s Palace located within the National Park. Take the hotel shuttle back to the Hualien Train Station and head back to Taipei to catch your flight.
